Wonderful creativity in the painted imaginery units and the death machines. Who came up with the ideas for the latter? I would imagine that once the Mole showed up, which did not auger well for the Union's victory, everyone would be walking on egg shells wondering when the next Mole would pop up out of the ground.

I gotta go to Ayton in 2014!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe the historical inaccuracy in this game. Everyone knows the mechanical mole wasn't invented until 3 weeks after this battle.

My favourite unit from Ayton I was Tim Hall's SYW/Nap hybrid cuirassiers using the (then) newly released Perry plastics and some tricorne hats. This has to be my favourite from Ayton III - so well done again, Tim. Obviously cavalry is your metier. A maximum five, I think:-

I've been and gone and made the journey to and from Ayton without mishap so that booking can be safely cancelled. Hurrah!

They were stunning RTL, a joy to play with... (get killed... :-( )

To be honest the quality of all the units around the table was amazing. I'm constantly amazed of the talents of these brush wielders.

Great Pics Simon and some top Crotch level action lol

I must say I was ashamed at how bad my stuff looked next to Tim's masterpieces.

We must have had the prototype - it would explain why they hadn't thought to make it bayonet proof.

And those S/Smith figures do have big bayonets :)

Richie, don't feel that way, everyone has a level that they can do.

It's all truly fabulous (very good pictures Mr goat major - clearly a tripod in use?)

All the figures look great (well... maybe that Man Utd themed regiment will have to go ;) ) and all the different painting styles blend into one lovely, massive spectacle.
