What a wonderful weekend (great picces chaps).

Thank you so much to Alex and Julie for their hospitality and for providing the best wargames table ever.

And a big thank you to everyone else for the fun.

Not so much of a thank you to our railway companies who took me on a magical mystery tour on the way home - nine and a half hours it took.

Since Ayton 2013 was 'Not'-ACW, that would make this my first 'historical' ACW battle.

DB-ACW seemed to work well, I thought. (I'm a fan of DBN anyway.)
The ammo resupply rules and the chain-of-command were realistically fallible and frustrating.
Very much a case of looking at the situation and thinking; "What do I think I can achieve?" rather than: "What would I like to achieve?"

I commanded half of Ewell's division on day one, and when the rest of the Confederate forces arrived on day two, I was elevated to 'Full Ewell'.

I'd do a write-up of sorts, but in many instances I could only identify the forces by their controlling player (rather than which units they represented) and most of the locations by tabletop position (rather than actual place names.)
So while 'Kilpatrick's cavalry advanced, following the line of the Taneytown road' is useful, most of it would be more like: "Tim's cavalry advanced, following the line of the road on the eastern side of the table".
