In fairness...

That first year I had that awful thankfully long gone ex girlfriend. Who despite me coughing up £700 for three nights in a luxury lodge in the middle of park persisted to moan throughout and had me carting them about instead of letting me come play with the toys all day lol
2nd year I was down to escort some greb to prison so could only manage the one day as was let down on a shift swap last minute.
Technically I shouldn't come this year as for the first time in my life I'm proper skint, but what could be better way of cheering up than playing ACW in a sunny Yorkshire with you lot. I genuinely mean that which is quite worrying lol

Awesome unit Henry, shame you can't be with us

I was actually referring to your character in the game ahead of us old chap. It will be great to have you there despite straitened circumstances, and in that none of us are alone, I have even had to get a job for pete's sake, and I am a retired gentleman of leisure damnit. A weekend spent in good company, with nice toys and good food and drink, will be just the tonic for us all in these days of governmental imposed austerity and misery. Damn 'em, not even Cameroclegg can screw this up for us.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We shall be victorious.

Ah I get you! Lol - well there's still time in the scenario for me to run off and procure some southern belles whilst the rest of the army wanders haphazard into the enemy! Lol

There was some great characters in the civil war wasnt there? I was reading on Kilpatrick the other day, fabulous fun

Here you go, Peeler, Die Erste Fremdenlegion von Prunkland (Prunkland's First Foreign Legion) about to march into a box and head up to you.

Coo oooh sash! Lordy they look good, many thanks me Henry, I'm sure they will do you proud & cover themselves in glory :) Very nicely done, chuffed & awaiting Mr Postmanlady.

All mine are painted & glued down, now just need the base painting when the glue dries off. It's a happy feeling when you finish the last figure & start basing them, they look proper.

Someone asked how excited are we? Well, very, I'd say. The past few weeks have been a bit of a slog & I'm looking forward to a weekend of fun & enjoyable gaming, drinking & feeding, in good company.

Bring it on.

I can't see anyone eating a pie in that regiment - are you sure they're yours, Peeler?

Hopefully Henry is also sending some lying down ones, for the inevitable result of Peeler leading them into action. :-)

The people of Medetia (ie. me and the missus - who's patriotically stepped in to help paint horsies) are also very excited. And will be even more so when the cavalry is finished and the final bases done! <pan>

My wife had a go at painting one of my horses. After about 3 brushstrokes she got bored and my painting OCD anxiety attack kicked in so we mutually agreed to end the experiment.

Please don't take any pics of mine, I've packed in painting for this evening as my eyes are aching but I may get a couple of hours in tomorrow morning.
What's done is done, what isn't I'll have to do another time. No surer way to kill the mojo than to try & force it. You boys set a very high standard but you kindly refrain from open ridicule.

Anyway VB said he forgot to do a commander so he may well be borrowing a Space Marine Chapter Master as a proxy.
